Sawāi Jai Singh, c. a.d. 1693-1743.—Jai II., better known by the title of Sawai Jai Singh, in contradistinction to the first prince of this name, entitled the ‘ Mirza Raja,’ succeeded in S. 1755 (a.d. 1699), in the forty-fourth year of Aurangzeb's reign, and within six years of that monarch's death.
