the assassin was his own son, Bhim, “ whose countenance (says the chronicle) was that of a demon.” The record is obscure, but it would appear that one parricide was punished by another, and that Askaran, the son of Bhim, was instigated by his brethren to put their father to death, and “ to expiate the crime by pilgrimage.”
