The interest lies in the threshold — between the seen and the unseen, the letter and what the letter withholds. Knowing is treated as something closer to attachment than to argument, arrived at by practice, by breath, by repetition, by a teacher who cannot simply hand it over. Read as doctrine it goes thin; it was never meant to settle a question.
