Deccan Nawabi state in present-day Karnataka; the last ruler acceded to the Dominion of India in 1948. Imperial Gazetteer (2026-09-22): The Gazetteer dates the Savanur Nawabs' founding to 1680, when Abdul Rauf Khan received a jagir from Aurangzeb (matching the row's start year); it predates 1948 so gives no end date for the state.

The founder of the family, Abdul Rauf Khan, obtained in 1680 from the emperor Aurangzeb the grant of a jāgir comprising Bankapur, Torgal, and Azamnagar or Belgaum, with a command of 7,000 horse. In 1730 the family, as deputies of the Nizam, received additional territory.
