Nawabs of Bengal (Nawwab-Nazims)
Dated by the archive's own convention (content/DATE-CONVENTIONS.md) from Murshid Quli Khan's appointment as diwan/governor of Bengal under Aurangzeb in 1116 AH/1704 to the 1765 grant of the Diwani that transferred real fiscal and administrative power to the East India Company — the settlement that extinguished the polity as a sovereign actor, even though titular Nawabs continued at Murshidabad.
