A succession through a daughter
Muhammad Quli left no son. The throne passed to Muhammad Qutb Shah, who was married to Hayat Bakshi Begum, Muhammad Quli’s daughter — the same manoeuvre the dynasty would use again in 1672, when Abdullah also died sonless and the succession was settled among sons-in-law inside the palace.
The archive records no fetched statement of how his own accession was managed, so no mode is asserted for it in the succession record. That the throne moved along a marriage rather than a birth is what the sources do support.
