Muhammad Adil Shah Suri
A nephew of Sher Shah Suri and brother-in-law of Islam Shah, he murdered the boy-king Firuz Shah and took the throne as Muhammad Adil Shah; contested for most of his reign by the rival claimants Ibrahim Shah Suri and Sikandar Shah Suri, he was eventually defeated and killed by Bahadur Shah (Khizr Khan) of Bengal.

Khizr Khan, the son of Mahomed Shah Poorby of Bengal, in order to revenge the death of his father, slain in the battle of Kalpy, raised an army, and, assuming the title of Bahadur Shah, wrested by force a great part of the eastern provinces out of the hands of Mahomed Shah Adily, whom he eventually defeated and slew.
