Kurnool — the Nawabs
Pathan (Panni) Nawabi state in the Deccan; annexed by the East India Company in 1839 after a six-day war. Founding year of 1674 (first nawab Khizr Khan Panni) per Wikipedia's rulers table; some sources instead date the Nawabi to 1687-90 under Aurangzeb's officer Dawood Khan — flagged as a doubt, not resolved with a verbatim second-source quote. Imperial Gazetteer (2026-09-22): The Gazetteer's Kurnool District article gives the jagir's founding as 1687 (Aurangzeb's conquest and grant to Daud Khan), not 1674 as in the row; it confirms 1839 as the annexation/end date after the Nawab's rebellion.

Kurnool State was established by a Pathan general. It was ruled by Nawabs until the British Government took over in 1839.
