The younger son of Sher Shah Suri, installed by his father's officers over the elder son Adil Khan Soor, whom Sher Shah had named his successor; he died after a reign Briggs dates to the Hijri year 955, and was succeeded by his own young son.

Julal Khan, through the influence of Eesa Khan and his party, ascended the throne, in the fortress of Kalunjur, on the 15th of Rubbee-ool-Awul, in the year 952, taking the title of Islam Shah, which by false pronunciation is called Sulim Shah, by which name he is more generally known.
