Firuz Shah Bahmani

Seized the throne by force from his cousin Shams al-Din in 1397, storming the durbar and blinding him; reigned over 25 years and, by the court's own preferred account, voluntarily handed the crown to his brother Ahmad Shah on his deathbed in 1422, though a rival tradition recorded by Ferishta says Ahmad had him strangled.
