Mir Fateh Ali Khan Talpur
Led the Talpur tribe to power over the last Kalhora ruler, was nominated by the Durrani king Timur Shah as supreme authority (Rais) in Sindh, granted large independent tracts to his kinsmen Sohrab Khan and Tarrah Khan, and ruled Hyderabad until his death in 1801, when his three brothers divided the government as the 'Char Yar'.

Mir Ghúlam Hussein Khan acknowledged the sovereignty and accepted the protection under which he afterwards lived, of Mir Futteh Allí Khan, and he acknowledged the independence and perpetuity of the distinct possession of Mir Sohrab Khan, and Mir Tarrah Khan.

In the month of June 1779, a tribe of Belooche origin, called the Talpoories, headed by the present Umeers, and their elder brother, rebelled against the existing authority of the Kulora Nuwwab of Sinde, and forced him to fly towards Kandahar... In 1786 another army came from Kabool to adjust the disputes in Sinde; but the Talpooree chiefs had then been some length of time in quiet possession of the government.

On the nomination, by Tymoor Shah, of Meer Futtuh Allee to the supreme authority in Sinde, that chief made over large tracts of country to different branches of his own family, who had aided him in usurping the government; among these Meer Sohrab and Meer Thara shared on the largest scale.
