Anwaru'd-Din Khan Bahadur
Titled Siraju'd-Dawla; appointed Nawwab of the Carnatic (Arcot) by Nizamu'l-Mulk (Asaf Jah) in March 1744 after Khwaja Abdullah Khan was found dead in bed on the day he meant to set out for Arcot, and reached Arcot himself in April 1744. Founder of the Walajahi dynasty. Killed at the Battle of Ambur fighting Muzaffar Jang and Muhammad Husayn Khan Tahir's forces, deserted and stabbed by his own mahout Yusuf Khan; he died on the sixteenth day of Sha'ban 1162 A.H. (1749 — the page gives only the Hijri date), aged seventy-seven.
